Vinyasa Yoga with Jeanie Garden (All Levels)
Six Thursdays, 1:00 - 2:30 pm (Every Other Week: 3/11, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6, 5/20)
Take a time-out and pamper yourself while the kids are in school! Jeanie weaves together different styles and traditions of Yoga for her classes, and this one is Vinyasa (movement with breath), with a goal toward releasing toxins, consistent movement and mental release. She'll chose a different focal pose for each class, and the difficulty-level will steadily build over time.
Pricing: $90 for six-week series (Drop-in fee of $20/class not available for purchase online)
Yoga For a Healthy Back with Jeanie Garden (All Levels)
Six Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 pm (Every Other Week: 3/11, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6, 5/20)
Jeanie's training in Structural Yoga Therapy, Anusara, Iyengar and Restorative yoga are the backbone of this course. The course will methodically build, with the first Thursday of the month focussing on softening, relaxing, and release, and the second Thursday focussing on core strength and strength in general. You will learn to take care of your back while in pain, and strengthen the back while free from pain, with a focus on postural alignment and healthy ways to increase flexibility in the hips, shoulders, and neck. Working on structural problems with the back will help relieve strain and discomfort of the neck. You will learn to use the breath to help relax surrounding muscles in areas of soreness and tension as a way to heal. Students of all levels are welcome, and this course is highly recommended for students with chronic back pain. This course is NOT recommended for those with acute pain or spinal injuries.
